A historic preservation, some Jersey City old timers refer to Dixon Mills as The Pencil Factory. A gated enclave of buildings originally constructed in the 1800's, Dixon Mills was converted to residential rentals in the 1990's and has now been converted to condominiums. Many of the original details have been preserved throughout the buildings including volume ceilings, wide plank wood floors and exposed brick reminiscent of the solid construction practices of the industrial revolution. However, the high-tech revolution is making its presence felt here also with wiring for high speed internet access and cable.
Dixon Mills is located in a neighborhood setting mixed with quaint shops, charming cafes and restaurants and all services right at hand.
Dixon Mills provides free shuttle service for the short ride to the Grove St PATH and NY Waterway ferry.
